How real AI does this
Real models don't pick whole words. They pick tokens, which are chunks of text. A short word is usually one token. A long word might be two or three.
And their wheel has more than 100,000 slices, not five. Every slice gets a probability, every single time.
Newer models often write out their reasoning before they answer. Underneath, it's the same wheel. One token at a time, all the way down.
Temperature is real too. Most apps pick a setting for you, and some don't let you change it at all.
